Frequently Asked Questions

Are you currently accepting patients?

I typically have a waitlist for individual therapy and limited immediate availability for one-time consultations. I have immediate availability for group therapy. Please reach out here or email me directly at inquiry@thevestibularpsychologist.com.

If you’re looking for immediate individual support, I oversee two mindset coaches through my educational company, Rooted Behavioral Education.

Do you work with children and adolescents?

Individual and group therapy are for adults 18+ but I will consider a one-time consultation with parents of minors on a case-by-case basis.

Do you accept insurance?

The Vestibular Psychologist, PC, is a self-pay practice. Please visit fees for more information.

How much do your services cost?

My fees are as follows and include my time preparing for your session, the session itself, clinical notes, and collaborating with your other treatment providers:

  • Initial assessment (60 min.; CPT 90791): $400 (this applies to the first appointment with me for therapy OR a one-time consultation)

Where do you provide services?

I am able to provide telehealth to the majority of US states using the Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) under PSYPACT®: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming. For more info, click here.

Don’t live in one of these states? No problem! I offer international meetings and oversee mindset coaches through Rooted Behavioral Education.

Do you offer a reduced fee (i.e., sliding scale)?

Unfortunately, not at this time. I give back to the vestibular community by donating many hours each week to research projects, writing educational articles, free education via social media, university lectures, and low-cost educational course development.

Will you write me a letter/complete medical forms?

I will support those with an ongoing therapeutic relationship with me by completing forms and letters (e.g., disability). The fee will depend on my time reviewing your records and drafting letters/forms. I do not write emotional support animal (ESA) letters.

What is your cancellation policy?

Because I see a limited number of patients, I am unable to fill your appointment time in the event that you cancel with 48 hours notice or less. Please be sure to give me at least 48 hours notice to cancel or reschedule your appointment to avoid paying the full session fee. Note: insurance companies do not reimburse for cancelled sessions.

What can I expect from individual therapy?

Your first session will last about 60 minutes. I will ask you a series of questions to get a better idea of how I can best help you. Individual follow-ups are 45-50 minutes and group follow-ups are 60 minutes. You can expect to be consistently working toward goals and will complete therapy when you have reached your goals.

How long do people typically stay in individual therapy?

This depends on the person, but typically about 8-16 sessions over the course of 3-6 months, depending on the complexity of presenting concerns.

How does group therapy work?

Group therapy is open and ongoing - you can join at any time! I like to strike a balance between providing you actionable skills and spending time connecting with and hearing from others.

Where should I do my online session?

It’s recommended that you join your session from a private, quiet location such as a home or office. It is recommended that you do not use public WiFi due to security issues.
